Vermilion Municipal Court - Biographical Information

Judge W. Zack Dolyk

The Honorable W. Zack Dolyk was elected Judge of the Vermilion Municipal Court in November, 2007 and is presently serving a six year term commencing January 1, 2008. The Vermilion Municipal Court is a single judge municipal court created in 1965. He had served a number of years as Acting Judge in the Vermilion Municipal Court.

Judge Dolyk earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Ohio Northern University and his Juris Doctor Degree from Ohio State University. He has been in private practice and has maintained a Vermilion office since having been admitted to the Ohio State Bar in 1978. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Erie County Bar Association and the Lorain County Bar Association.

Judge Dolyk has served as an officer and trustee of a number of local charitable organizations and foundations.

Clerk of Court, Tamara Horton

Tami Horton started working at the court in July 1985 as a clerk typist. She was appointed as a Deputy Clerk of the traffic/criminal division in January 1986. She was then appointed as Chief Deputy Clerk in February 1992 by Clerk Barbara Akers and then Clerk of Court on October 3, 2005. She was raised in Vermilion and graduated from Vermilion High School in 1981. Tami is married to her husband Kirk and together they have a son Kristopher. She enjoys watching Kristopher's sporting events, volunteering for the local Hot Stove Baseball Organization and the Vermilion Athletic Booster Club where she serves as their secretary, program chairperson and team parent for football, wrestling and baseball. She enjoys ceramics, crafts, beach vacations and family and friend get togethers. She is a member of the Ohio Association Municipal/County Court Clerk's currently serving on the Bureau of Motor Vehicle Committee. She is also a member of the Northeast Ohio Municipal Court Clerk's Association.
